It has been announced that Zomato has bought the leading food distribution company, ‘Uber Eats’.
Companies such as Zomato, Swiggy, and Uber Eats are among the leading ready-food suppliers in the country.
Among these, Uber Eats was started by Uber Technologies in the year 2017 in India. As more and more competitors entered this field, Uber Eats found it rather tough to this challenge and struggled.
Subsequently, Uber Eats has sold itself to the competitor Zomato. As per the contract, 10% of shares of Zomato will be given to Uber Eats. This agreement is reportedly worth the US $ 350 million.
It has also been informed following the above sales that all Uber Eats shops, delivery partners, and the customers in this field would be linked to Zomato.
On behalf of Zomato, it is informed that the above details are released in Uber Eats App.
A notification released by Uber Eats in this regard:
We have announced that Zomato has bought Uber Eats in India. So, one cannot order food from Uber Eats any more. However, the customer can order the preferred items on Zomato with attractive discounts.
However, the Uber App will continue functioning on the Call Taxi Service and can be used as such.
