General Hospital or GH in Chennai to have 24#7 fever OP ward for Corona virus screening

For the purpose of screening for the Corona virus issue and to get their doubts cleared, people could now walk into the 24#7 fever outpatient or OP ward in the Chennai based Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital or RGGGH. This fever OP ward has got both medical as well as paramedical staffs.

The important information collected is the 6 medical officers from Internal Medicine, 2 assistant professors/ PG of Community Medicine, 2 counsellors, one microbiologist and a X-Ray technician would be working in 2 shifts in this new 24# 7 fever OP ward in RGGGH. This was later mentioned by dean of RGGGH, Dr. R. Jayanthi. It must be taken into account that this OP would be functioning at ward 210, first floor of Tower- 2.

The dean then explained about how those who want to get screened for Corona virus or to get information regarding this virus, travel history and showing symptoms of this virus could come to OP ward. The 2 important features of this ward are its ventilation and spacious seating facilities.

Firstly, the epidemiological history meaning details of travel and contact history would be taken by the assistant professors or post graduates belonging to the department of Community Medicine. In the next step, doctors belonging to general medicine would conduct a clinical examination on the person to check BP, temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation etc. Important information is a complete blood count would be carried out. X-ray would e taken if the person has cough and lung signs etc.
