The public has been delighted with the recent introduction of a new MTC (Chennai Metro Transport Corporation) bus route from Vadapalai to Oragdam.
There are 100 Panchayatin the Sripreumpudhur and Kundrathur Unions in the Taluk of Sriprempudhur. Recently, the district of Kanchipuram was split to form a new district Chinglepur. In a similar mode, the Taluk of Sriperumpudhur has been bifurcated to form Sriperumpudhur Taluk with 58 Panchayats and Kundrathur Taluk with 42 Panchayats. A revenue Tashildhar has been appointed for these 2 taluks.
The new office of the Revenue Tashildhar has been opened in the Sriperumpudhur Circle Development Office complex. Similarly, a temporary Revenue Tashildhar office has been set up in Kundrathur area.
Presently, there is no bus facility for the residents in Kundrathur Taluk comprising of over 200 villages including Padappai, Manimangalam, Sethuppattu, Orathur, Karasankal, Kavalur, Vaippur, Vadakkuppattu, Chennakuppam, Vattampakkam, Natarasanpattu, and Serappancherry to visit the Taluk office at Kundrathur. Because of this, the visitors the Kundrathu Taluk Office needed to take first a bus up to Tambaram and then take another bus from Tambaram. So, the residents of this locality appealed that a new MTC bus should be introduced from Padappai to Kundrathur via Manimangalam and Somangalam.
A special news item was printed regarding this in the Tamil daily ‘Dinakaran’. Subsequently, 4 new buses have started operating from Oragadam to Vadapalani via Padappai, Manimangalam, Mudichur, Thirumudivakkam, Kundrathur and Porur.
The MLA for Sriperumpudhur Legislative Assembly Constituency, Pazhani inaugurated this new MTC bus service This facility has indeed delighted the local residents of Padappai and its neighbourhood!
