PMK founder and leader S. Ramadoss was granted bail by Villupuram’s Judicial Magistrate Court 1 Judge Sivakumar along with bail for President of the party G.K. Mani, A. Ganesh Kumar and more than three hundred others who were arrested earlier this week. However, the Madurai City Police issued a non bailable warrant almost immediately on charges of violence and riots in the city and surrounding areas.
Mr. Ramadoss’s son and former Union Minister Anbumani Ramadoss was arrested in Chennai early on Friday morning. His arrest was in connection with a case registered in Mamallapuram. He was remanded to 15 days judicial custody by the District Court Magistrate in Thirukazhukundram, and has been lodged in Puzhal Central Prison. His appeal for bail will be heard on May 6th.
