One of the reasons many aspiring entrepreneurs fail in their business is that they are trying to do everything by themselves. But the truth is, you cannot and should not do everything by yourself. The ideal way for Startup Success is to discover & play with your strengths which can save a lot of time, energy and money.
Knowing your strengths and weaknesses will help you identify the right Co-founders (or) 2nd level employees who can fill the gaps & compensate for those weaknesses. Focus on tasks that you love to do and delegate (or) outsource all other tasks in which either you are not good at or it doesn’t excite you.
Two easy ways to identify your Strengths?
1) Simply answer these questions:
- What do other people (friends, family, colleagues, and boss) see as your strengths?
- What advantages do you have that others do not have (e.g. skills, certifications, education, or connections)?
- Which of your achievements are you most proud of?
- What types of tasks you are excited about?
- What do you do better than anyone else does?
- Are you part of a network that no one else is involved in? If so, what connections do you have with influential people?
2) Also, come up with a list of at least five people you know: friends, family, colleagues, boss and write them a short note on their top 5 strengths according to you & ask them to reciprocate.
Explain that you are trying to develop your strengths to be a better person & ask them to share with you the list of top 5 strengths they see in you.
Post your top 2 strengths in the comments,
