Since the hit of COVID-19 in the country, every state has set up their plans apart from following the guidelines by the Centre. With many states reporting less availability of equipment and non-availability of resources if cases rise, with the efforts of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan is ready with enough backup to treat thousands of patients at a time with nearly 407 COVID Hospitals & Care Centres.
Seeing the number of active cases in Rajasthan, the State Government has kept enough capacity of beds to treat thousands of patients at a single time, if the need arises. The total number of beds in 407 Hospitals and Centres is 43,704 out of which, 8090 beds are with attached oxygen, 1672 are ICU beds and 882 are with ventilators.
“In Rajasthan, the focus has been to save lives. Aggressive testing leading to early detection of cases coupled with quality healthcare is the hallmark of our COVID Management Strategy. We closely monitor the availability of health infrastructure in each district vis-a-vis the active cases therein. Projections are estimated based on rigorous and intelligent algorithms to plan for any future eventuality. It’s a matter of satisfaction that the active cases in the state are below 3000 for the last 10 days indicating a flattening of the curve. However, we are extremely cautious as the situation evolves," said Rohit Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Health & Family Welfare, Rajasthan Government.
The efforts of increasing the facility in the state are on a war-footing level. The Rajasthan Government has launched a campaign Nirogi Rajasthan under which free medicines are being given to the needy and the development of health infrastructure in the state is also being revamped with time. The increase in the number of beds will not only facilitate patients and hospitals in COVID-19 scenario but would also contribute towards the betterment of the health system. So far, the total cumulative positive cases in Rajasthan (up to 14-06-2020) are over 12,532 out of which nearly 9431 have recovered. The number of people discharged has reached to 9059.
Along with enough bedding capacity, the Rajasthan Government has also kept the supply of PPE kits that is 45,482, 100755 N-95 masks, sanitizers intact with no district reporting shortage of equipment. All the districts in the state are being regularly monitored and if required, the stock is sent on time keeping the supply, in an unusual scenario, intact. Notably, the Rajasthan Government has done more than 5.84 lakh tests till now and the doubling rate of the cases has also reached to 26.57 days, which was earlier 19 a few days back. With recovery rate topping 75.26%, the #RajasthanSatarkHai campaign has shown positive results till now. The officials with 26031 teams are conducting active surveillance and reaching out individuals door to door for screenings across the state as till now, the medical staff has screened nearly 33,41,647 people. Groups with more than 82,915 high-risk people were contacted and made aware of the dos and don’ts. On the otherer hand, as part of passive surveillance, the officials have screened nearly 1,25,768 people in OPDs.
