The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (UP) Yogi Adityanath today inaugurated the SIDBI Swavalamban Kendra at Lucknow. The initiative is expected to help the progress of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state and facilitate their growth. The initiative is in line with the Mission Swavalamban of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
While laying the foundation stone, he expressed esteemed pleasure about this initiative. He applauded the green building plan which aligns with the thinking of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who has been talking of energy-efficient India. He also mentioned about the lead role SIDBI plays in national missions of StartupIndia, Stand-Up India, Make in India, and other initiatives. These missions kindle the entrepreneurial spirit in youth and make them assimilate the Swavalamban culture of being job creator as against being a job seeker.
He appreciated SIDBI’s support to startup programme of the Uttar Pradesh and was hopeful that this will supplement the AtmaNirbhar Bharat mission. He mentioned that One District One Product (OPOD) shall prove to be game-changer. When World is facing the COVID-19 pandemic, startups and MSMEs are the ray of hope to realise the dreams and strengthen the state and national economy. He believes the setting up of the centre shall lead to the start of new work culture.
On this occasion Shri Mohammad Mustafa, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director, SIDBI said, “In our constant endeavour towards Mission Swavalamban, we have successfully touched the lives of people and helped them become Swavalambis. With Swavalamban Kendra at Lucknow, where we are headquartered, we aim to bridge the skilling gap as also access aspects of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) to coworking space, exhibition centre, meeting places etc. We look forward to deepening the mission of AtmaNirbhar Bharat in the state of UP.”
Swavalamban Kendra has been conceptualized by SIDBI for meeting the training requirements of MSMEs with thrust on access to livelihood and MSEs. Its premise is laid to evolve as the state of art facility centre where SIDBI’s own officials as also different training programmes for enterprises shall be run. It will ease concessional access to working space, conference hall, board room, conference hall and exhibition place for enterprises. Enterprises from UP state who are benefitting under schemes of ODOP etc. can reap the benefits of the centre. The centre shall be set up in one-acre space and it is planned to be ready in one year’s time.
Shri Manoj Mittal, Deputy Managing Director of SIDBI proposed the vote of thanks and re-affirmed SIDBI’s resolve to continue to be ‘The partner” and undertake illustrative initiatives for the enterprises in the State.
