More rain expected in Tamilnadu

The Regional Meteorological Department has said that several districts in Tamil Nadu will receive rain till Wednesday this week due to the onset of the southwest monsoons in Kerala. Many places across the State have received rain over the weekend as well.
On Monday, the place to receive the highest amount was Devala in Nilgiris District with 8 cms of rainfall. 6 cms of rainfall was recorded in Coimbatore district’s Chinnakalar. Districts that fall under the rain shadow are Erode, Salem, Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli.
In Chennai, Meenambakkam weather station recorded 9 cms.
