First phase of English medium classes to begin soon

The State Department of School Education has launched the start of English medium classes. The first phase will begin this academic year in areas around Nagercoil.
The area has 93 middle schools and 378 primary schools. Children will be admitted in the all classes in the primary schools. The breakup of the first phase of the admissions is : one middle school and ten primary schools in Nagercoil, two middle schools and thirteen primary schools in Rajakkamangalam, two middle schools in Tiruvattar, one middle school and one primary school in Karungal, one middle school in Munchirai, four middle schools and three primary schools in Colachel and one middle school and three primary schools in Kuzhuthurai.
‘As announced by the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa that English medium classes would be started in primary schools for the benefit of students who preferred it, provided there were at least 15 students in each class’, said Collector S. Nagarajan.
