Information is circulated that following the 2 disastrous cyclones Nivar and Burevi, a 3rd Cyclone, named ‘Arnab’, is said to form to disturb the peace in the Indian Ocean Region!

Further, it is worthwhile noting here that the name given to the cyclone, ‘Arnab’ reminds the public of a popular media celebrity!

Let us know the exact status:

Several countries join together while naming a cyclone! A regular naming system is being followed in this context. As per this system, for the cyclones forming in the regions of the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian Sea, the countries located in these regions, 13 countries – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Thailand, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates – join together to recommend a list of names. As such, cyclones are names according to the order in the above list.

The World Meteorological Organisation has release the list of 169 names as per the system that the 13 member countries have been asked to give 13 names each.

In the list given by India, names like ‘Murasu’, ‘Neer’, etc., are included in the list. As per the list, the name ‘Arnab’, given by the country Bangladesh, is also in this list! So, as per the above explanation, Arnab is a name recommended by one of the 13 member countries.

It is worth noting here that the system of naming the cyclones and the background reasons have generated public curiosity despite the extent of the damage caused by them!

In this background, it is of further interest to note that the name ‘Arnab’ happens to be the name of one of the popular social media persons/celebrities!

However, as it will take a substantially long period before the name ‘Arnam’ comes into reckoning, we confirm that THE NEXT CYCLONE WILL DEFINITELY BE NOT NAMED ‘ARNAB’!
