Central government approves scheme to provide free Wi-Fi in public places!

In the central cabinet meeting conducted yesterday (Wednesday, 9th December), approval was granted to set up and provide free Wi-Fi services in public places.

The central cabinet meeting presided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was conducted yesterday (9th December), In this meeting, the central cabinet approved the proposal to set up and provide free ‘Wi-Fi’ services under the name ‘PM WANI’ in public places. This information was shared by the Central Minister Ravishankar Prasad.

In this regard, the central minister shared further: A decision was taken by the central cabinet meeting to approve the proposal to set up and provide free ‘Wi-Fi’ services in public places. ‘Data Centers’ will be set up throughout the country to facilitate this free Wi-Fi service in public places. This would not require any licence or registration and would be free of charge!”

Apart from this, the central cabinet has also approved the proposal to set up 1 Crore ‘Data Centers’ throughout the country and also to lay a fibre-optic cable between Kochi and Lakhdiv under the ocean.
