Information about rains in the southern districts in TN

The weathermen have revealed that the Western Ghats districts in the south might get light rains with chances of thunderstorms in the next 48 hours. They have also mentioned that the rest of the state of TN is likely to have dry weather.

There might be more rain at the end of this March and the summers would be cooler this time. This was predicted by some weather experts and weather bloggers.

As per an official belonging to the RMC Chennai, there would be light rains in the isolated places over Western Ghats districts, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Kanniyakumari, and Thoothukudi districts. Over the next 48 hours, dry weather is likely to prevail over rest TN, Karaikal, and Puducherry etc. On Friday, thunderstorms were witnessed in some of these areas is known.

Indian Meteorological Department or IMD has issued a seasonal forecast and as per the forecast for March to May 2021 the summer temperatures in TN in this time period is expected to be lesser than the usual. It is said that the land breeze in the western districts might lead to rise in the temperatures in the following weeks. The coastal districts in TN would witness average temperatures.

It is true that due to the El Nino factor the temperatures have been below normal in the last 2 years across the Central Pacific Area and in October 2020, the temperatures last peaked. It is warming up slowly now. In the next 6 to 9 months, the Pacific Area would have below normal temperatures and this was according to weather models. This was mentioned by a weather blogger Mr. K. Srikanth.

Chennai based weather blogger Mr .Pradeep John hinted that at the end of March MJO or Madden Julian Oscillation (a major tropical weather fluctuation) would be approaching. This might result in rains in the southern districts of TN this month end.
