Intense heat waves have been troubling many people in Chennai and in the state of TN for the last few days. On Sunday, 4th April, there was some respite for the people as the temperature decreased due to light rains. The weather experts were of the view that the heat wave would reduce over the week ending on 8th of April.
As per an official belonging to the regional meteorological department, the maximum temperature would be 3 degrees to 4 degrees Celsius above normal in districts like Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruppur, Coimbatore and Dindigul on Monday and on Tuesday. Truth is that the pulse from the depression comes back as upper air circulation to TN. He explained about how the easterlies were brought back by this and how there was a drop in the temperature. It is well known that Chennai has witnessed high temperatures from the heat wave.
