Domestic power consumption bills - a clear explanation regarding charge per unit

Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announce3d that domestic consumers can calculate the electricity charges for the current month of May!
A clear explanation regarding the number of units of electrical energy consumed and the related charge!
In the State of Tamil Nadu, the domestic consumers allowed to use up to 100 units of electric energy consumed, free! Charges are made only for the amount beyond the 100 units!
Electricity charges are calculated in different slabs: from 100 units to 200 units, 200 units to 500 units and then over 500 units of consumption! A basic charge for electricity is also included in this.

- 200 units Rs. 170/-
- 210 units Rs. 260/-
- 290 units Rs. 500/-
- 390 units Rs. 800/-
- 500 units Rs. 1130
- 510 units 1846
- 600 units Rs. 2440/-
- 700 units Rs. 3100/-
- 800 units 3760/-
- 1000 units Rs. 5080/-
- 1200 units Rs. 6400/-
TANGEDCO has announced that the domestic consumer may calculate the charges for the month of May by themselves!
TANGEDCO has made this announcement as there were a large number of complaints from the consumers that the charges for the previous months were rather high!
The domestic consumer has to calculate the charges for May, take a photo of the same, and send it to the TANGEDCO authorities through WhatsApp. Subsequently, they can make the payment online.
In case there are doubts regarding the reading taken by the domestic consumer, the TANGEDCO STAFF will visit and take the reading again!
