No other method is easier and simpler than a mural art to convey a social message for the benefit of the people!!

People visiting the Tambaram railway station cannot miss the mural that has been painted on the entrance walls. Inspite of the fact that getting vaccinated for Covid-19 infection is important, many people in Tamil Nadu are reluctant in getting vaccination for Covid-19 infection. This might change soon.

In future, there might be more persons who would be showing interest to get them vaccinated for Covid-19 infection. This could be due to a mural at the entrance walls of the Tambaram railway station. The credit for the mural at the railway station must go to a person named Varshini Ramakrishnan. Named as ‘Thaduppom Inaivom’ the artwork has been attracting the attention of many commuters here.

It is worthy to mention that the facade of this Tambaram railway station is being divided into 3 facades and on the left wall the message of Thaduppom or let’s prevent has been conveyed.

Inaivom or let’s unite has been portrayed on the right wall. Point is that on the left wall there is a visual of a woman who is getting vaccinated and this must be registered in the minds of the public. The idea behind this visual was to make the public get vaccinated without any hesitation.

Varshini later spoke about how on the right side of the wall the mural art made by her was based on various elements in daily lives. Here, the collective mindset of what the people have been looking forward to has been represented. The people have not been able to go to the schools, weddings, travelling in the trains etc in the lockdown.

It is now very clear that these above said activities that people missed in the lockdown would only be possible if they get vaccinated. Varshini concluded that vaccination was the only way by which normalcy could be reached.  In the year 2020, the commuters visiting this railway station would have seen different murals at the same entrance wall. The mural in 2020 was a tribute to the frontline workers who have played their roles in the Coronavirus pandemic. The Corona warriors were given importance last year and the theme of the mural at the Tambaram railway station was based on that.

It was later mentioned by Varshini that more people must get vaccinated and that was very important in this current situation. Many belonging to suburban areas in Chennai were hesitant to get vaccinated. The mural now at the Tambaram railway station would make many think about getting vaccinated. Fact is that the mural art at the Tambaram railway station was done with the collaboration with Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre.
