The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that a new low-pressure zone over the South Andaman and adjacent areas.

The low-pressure which was already formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal has now intensified as a deep depression zone and prevailing over the southwest Bay of Bengal.

Because of this depression zone, there have been widespread heavy rains in the delta districts.

Subsequently, this depression zone will drift towards west and northwest directions and will move towards North Tamil Nadu on 11th November morning.

Only as per the above situation, the Indian Meteorological Department has announced that a new low-pressure zone will be formed on 13th November over the South Andaman and adjacent areas. It is gathered that this low-pressure zone will intensify in the next 48 hours and drift towards west and northwest directions.  However, no information has been released on whether this will intensify into a deep depression zone!

There is an already prevailing depression zone. Only after this crosses the coast, it may be ascertained whether the new depression zone will drift in which direction and approach which region and the extent of rain!

Given the present situation, the Indian Meteorological Centre has given the news the depression will just form.

It may be noted that maximum rainfall of 31 cm has been recorded at Nagappattinam and Thiruppoondi.
