Rains slowly stops in the City areas, for 2nd time in less than a week, Chennai has got 200 mm (event as whole) in 24 hrs. Rains will continue for a while in interior Chennai and there too rains will reduce gradually - 2nd sambhavam in a week coming to close.
Rain stops in areas close to sea of City areas, It will be bit windy at around 40 km/hr at times. The interior areas of City rains will continue for some more time and then there also rains will reduce.
One dense cloud wall has fallen over Pulicat - Ponneri belt, extreme rains must have happened there.
The Depression is expected to Cross North Chennai to Sriharikota belt later in the evening.

Cumulatively if we take, many stations from yesterday has crossed 200 mm rainfall in the last 24 hrs (if we take a event as a whole without the cut-off time). For 2nd time in less than a week, City areas has been battered. It is time to recover now.
Discharge of Poondi surplus will be increased from 7000 cusecs to 8000 cusecs at 2 pm as current inflow is 8600 cusecs. Poondi catchment is getting heavy rains.
All Time Record (200 years) monthly rainfall for Chennai City for November month is under threat.
Nunga this November till now has got whopping 700 mm. The official Record as per IMD is 1088 mm recorded in 1918 for the entire month of November. However the historic 1985 floods November the actual rainfall was 1101 and is the actual record holder. Only 4 times 1000 mm has been breached by Chennai City (Nungambakkam) in a month in 200 years. And can 2021 find itself in that elusive list.
