Spotify has announced that it is buying both Chartable and Podsights. We know that both are leading attribution marketing and ad companies. However, deal price is yet to reveal by Spotify. It marks the first major acquiring in this year.
Chartable and podsights permit networks to include tags in their programs so it is easy to track who listened to it, when they identify it, they want to know whether they have taken action upon hearing in without their consent. Furtherly, Spotify has mentioned that it is in plans to use the Podsights technology outside podcasting in a full scope of Spotify platform including audio, video ads, and display ads.
Spotify officials say, “ these advanced tools will make it much easier for publishers to make the user insights into action and multiply their time on the platform to get good business”.
This deal looks very difficult for the company as it plans to make its ad platform the best in audio. It is not so simple as said. Company to have sound technology to figure out who is listening to those ads and what they are doing after listening to them. It is going to be a high-budget deal to handle this platform.
Spotify looks a bit aggressive in recent times as it keeps acquiring advertising technology and audiobooks. We have already known that Spotify purchased last year Findaway, Podz, Whooshkaa, and Locker Room to promote spoken audio content.
