From today onwards, free buses for women in Chennai will have pink colour. Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chepauk MLA would inaugurate the services of these pink coloured buses today.

Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin spoke about how the chief minister of TN gives huge importance to free bus travel. Truth is that as soon as Mr M.K. Stalin took over as CM of TN and gave his approval by signing free bus travel for women.

Women needed this free bus travel badly and that was the reason for the chief minister announcing that as soon as he took over charge. Till now, all the buses had the same colour and women got confused due to this. Truth is that sometimes women board super deluxe and express buses thinking that they are free for them.

To provide a solution to this issue, the colour for free women special buses have been changed now by the government of TN. Work regarding changing the colour of the buses to pink has been going on. This would be of huge help for women and for differently able persons, transgender persons etc as they would enable to identify the free bus services easily.

Today, a programme would take place near the TN Slum Exchange Board Office in Marina Beach and pink coloured buses would be launched for the public. Transport minister Mr. Sivashankar would be making his presence felt in this programme. Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin would be flagging off 5 mini buses from Omandurar Multispeciality Hospital metro station to other metro stations in Chennai.
