Karunanidhi had issued an order that the official functions of the govt of TN and those functions organised by various educational institutions and public establishments etc must begin with this State Anthem and must end with Indian National Anthem. It is shocking to mention that only few people knew about the lyrics and the meaning of the State Anthem.

According to the associate professor belonging to the department of Arabic, University of Madras, prof Jahir Hussain, only when the students and youths understand the meaning and the significance of the lyrics, they would connect with the State Anthem more.

To ensure easy accessibility, the University of Madras has plans to upload the music video on its website and anybody could download it from the website. The opinions of a few experts were taken into consideration after the music video was created and errors were eliminated. Truth is that the University of Madras has been promoting Tamil language and culture.

It was later mentioned by the VC of MU S. Gowri that the rich legacy of TN must be taught to our youths. The department of Arabic in the past had made many heads turn when it translated Aaathichudi of saint poet Avvaiyar into Arabic and made a video in Tamil and Arabic with subtitles in English.
