Prospects for heavy rain today (30th September) in 9 districts including Salem and Dharmapuri!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that there are prospects for heavy rains in 9 districts in Tamil Nadu!

In a notification released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre in this regard, it is mentioned:

"Due to the depression zone formed in the lower layers of the atmosphere over the Coastal Andhra, there are prospects for heavy rain in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Thirupathur, Vellore, Ranippettai, Thiruvarur, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvannamalai and Puducherry.

As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain in a few parts of the city. The maximum temperature will be 33 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 27 Degree Celsius.

The maximum rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours in cm: Mahabalipuram-3, Mettuppatti (Madurai) -2, Thirumangalam, Wallaja, Vembakkam, Arcadu – 1 each.

For fishermen:

High-speed cyclonic winds at 45-55 kmph are likely to blow across the coastal areas of Andhra and Tamil Nadu, the central-west and the adjacent west Bay of Bengal, Bay of Mannar, Coastal areas of Sri Lanka, southwest and the southeast Bay of Bengal. As such, fishermen are warned NOT to venture into the sea in the above-mentioned areas!
