Shock news for vehicle owners/drivers: Charges for fancy numbers doubled!

Citizens, especially in the fields of celebrities from film celebrities, VIPs including politicians, Numerology aficionados, and others opt for fancy numbers for their vehicles for various reasons and pay from Rs. 2000/- to Rs. 2 Lakhs for this!
The State Government of Tamil Nadu has set aside some 100 vehicle numbers from 0001 to 9999 as special numbers!
Note that these numbers cannot be obtained through Road Transport Offices (RTOs)! However, these numbers can be obtained by paying some special charges.
In this situation, as per the Amended Act of TN Motor Vehicles 1989, the Home Ministry has recommended that the charges for fancy numbers may be revised upwards from Rs. 2000/- to Rs. 2 Lakhs!
As such, it is expected that the charges for obtaining fancy numbers for vehicles will go up soon! The officials have shared that the Government Order for this will be released shortly!
So, the citizens interested in obtaining fancy numbers for the first series from 1-4, if they had paid up to Rs. 40000/- so far, will now need to pay Rs. 80000/-!
For serial numbers 5 to 8, the now need to pay Rs. 1,2 Lakhs instead of Rs. 60000/- and for the serial numbers from 9-10, they need to pay Rs. 2 Lakhs instead of Rs. 1 Lakh! For the series from 11-12, the payment will be Rs. 4 Lakhs instead of Rs. 2 Lakhs!
