IIT-Madras has added one more feather to its cap now?

For being the top Indian academic institution for patents filing, grants and commercialisation etc, IIT-M or Indian Institute of Technology Madras has been conferred with National Intellectual Property Awards for 2021 and 2022 by the Union government. By this, IITM has added one more feather to its cap.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued this award to IIT-M now. This has been spoken in huge esteem by many now.

It is noteworthy that the main criteria of evaluation of these awards are patent applications, grants, and commercialisations etc. This was according to a press release from IIT-M.

It was mentioned by Mr. V. Kamakoti, director of IITM that this award has motivated IITM to generate and protect the more and more intellectual property of societal impact leading to Atma Nirbhar products during Amrit kal.

To recognise and reward top achievers comprising individuals, institutions, organisations and enterprises etc, the awards are conferred every year.
