Reduce the risk of getting chronic kidney disease or CKD by eating these important foods!!

Just similar to the care we give for our heart, lungs, brain etc, proper care must be given for kidneys too!!

Also known as chronic kidney failure, chronic kidney disease or CKD is a progressive reduction in the functioning of the kidneys. Kidneys play an important role by removing waste and extra fluids from our blood and they are then passed out through urine. In those persons with chronic kidney disease, their bodies would accumulate hazardous amounts of fluids, electrolytes and wastes etc. Improper functioning of kidneys would result in the accumulation of food wastes. It is necessary that persons with kidney issues must not eat all types of foods that are available but eat certain foods only.

These foods could reduce the risk of getting affected with chronic kidney disease or CKD.

Intake of garlic:
This is used in preparation of many dishes is well known. Not many of us would be aware of the medicinal uses of garlic. It lowers cholesterol levels in us plus soothes inflammation etc. It would be superb to use garlic powder in place of garlic salt. It is noteworthy that garlic having low levels of phosphorus, potassium etc would be beneficial for those with kidney ailments.

Intake of strawberries:
The red colour of strawberries is mainly due to the presence of anthocyanins in the strawberries. These protect body cell structures and stop oxidative  damage etc. This fruit is one of the main foods that could be consumed to reduce the risk of getting chronic kidney diseases.

Intake of apples:
It is known that apples are rich in fiber content and anti-inflammatory ingredients etc. As a result, intake of apples could reduce the risk of CKD in us. Other benefits of apples intake are reduced cholesterol levels , decreased constipation etc.

Intake of cabbage:
It belongs to the cruciferous vegetables family is a known fact. The phytochemicals that are present in the cabbage would disperse the free radicals before they could create issues for us. There are other important ingredients like fibres, vitamins like K, C and B6 etc. The chances of getting CKD would be reduced by consuming cabbage.

Intake of onions:
Onion has little sodium and therefore it is a very good diet for kidneys. Truth is that we could consume onion in its raw form itself to avoid chronic kidney diseases etc. The presence of flavonoid caled quercetin in onions would also protect us from heart issues etc.

Intake of red bell peppers:
There are several nutrients and antioxidants present in red bell peppers. It is true t that consuming red bell peppers would be superb to reduce the chances of getting chronic kidney disease. The lycopene present in red bell peppers would prevent certain cancers also.
