The IMD or Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the state of Tamil Nadu due to onset of NE monsoons. Today, the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin took part in a review meeting on monsoon preparedness. Many senior officers also took part in this important meeting.
The CM of Tamil Nadu issued many instructions to the collectors of 21 districts plus to the senior bureaucrats through video conference. He instructed about constituting inter zonal teams for continuous monitoring of areas plus instructions to rescue teams regarding providing help to those people in the affected areas.
The chief minister later gave instructions to officers about evacuating the people present in the low lying areas. It must be noted that he wanted these people to be accommodated in government relief centres. It was mentioned in the government release that priority must be given to elder persons, pregnant women, children and differently able persons etc.
Other important personalities who took part in the meeting were ministers Mr. Dsurai murugan. Mr. K.N. Nehru, Mr. P.K. Sekar Babu and Mr. KKSSR. Ramachandran, Chennai Mayor Priya etc. The release from the government also mentioned that the fishermen must take note of the advisories of the meteorological department.
