From 11th November till 13th November, there will be an art festival in Chennai and it will be hosted by MAW or Madras Art Weekend. This MAW is an initiative of The International Foundation ofArts. This art festival would bring together the art fraternity on a single platform.
It is noteworthy that MAW, founded by Upsana Asrani as a platform to promote arts, acts as a catalyst to facilitate dialogue and collaborations within arts communities, bridges the gap between local governing bodies, institutions and corporates and artists.
The objective of the Art Weekend would be to reinvent the narrative and to bring forth a fresh energy onto the art scene in Chennai. On 11th November at Gallery Veda, Rutland Gate, the event would open with a group show `Prespectives`. It will be curated by Prabhu Viswanathan and Upsana Asrani. Here, the works belonging to 15 artists from TN would be showcased.
Topics of interest for both arts lovers and arts fraternity would be taken into consideration and discussions would be held on those topics. This would be apart from the exhibitions across different venues. Point is that there would be discussions about how the galleries create and curate etc. Some famous artists would be talking about their practices also.
