The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has released a notification. In this, it is mentioned:
"On the Eastern Side of the Indian Ocean adjacent to the Equator and the adjacent southeast areas, a cyclonic format is prevailing in the lower layers of the atmosphere. As such, a low-pressure zone is to develop over the southeast Bay of Bengal, and the adjacent areas today (Friday, 27th January).
This low-pressure format will likely drift towards the West and Northwest over the next 3 days! As such, there are prospects for a low-pressure zone to develop over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjacent areas.
As such, in the subsequent 3 days, this will drift slowly towards the west and northwest. So, there are prospects for mild rain for 2 days in the coastal Tamil Nadu districts and the adjacent districts and Puducherry.
Further, a dry climate will prevail today (Friday, 27th January) in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The morning temperature is likely to be lesser by 3 Degrees Celsius in 1 or 2 places as compared to normal!
Cyclone:
Due to the low-pressure zone, high-speed winds at 55 kmph may blow across the central southeast Bay of Bengal on the 29th & 30th of January. As such, the fishermen are warned NOT to venture into the sea during this period!"
