The Greater Chennai Corporation has decided to establish a `Food Street` in Chennai at a cost of Rs. 20 crore. The corporation plans to convert the 2 km long road from Rajiv Gandhi statue to Raj Bhavan Road near Chinnamalai into a food street.
The officials of the Chennai Corporation stated that the project aims to bring all popular food types in Chennai to one place. They plan to construct wide footpaths on both sides of the road and improve all necessary facilities to make the experience comfortable for visitors. The initial phase of the project has been completed, and the corporation plans to finalize the works soon and begin the next phase.
