Weather: Prospects for heavy rains in Tamil Nadu for the next 4 days!

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed us that there are prospects for the next four days in the districts adjacent to the Western Ghats Mountain Range in Tamil Nadu.

In a notification released regarding this by the Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Ps. Senthamaraikkanna, it is mentioned:

"The phenomenon of the easterly and westerly winds meeting each other in the upper layers of the atmosphere over South India has been prevailing for the past few days.

Due to this phenomenon, there is a prospect of mild to medium rain with lightning, thunder, and strong winds in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal on April 29th (today, Saturday).

On April 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd, there are prospects of widespread rains with lightning and thunder.

There are prospects of heavy rains in one or two places in Nilgiri, Erode, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Theni, Thenkasi, and Thirunelveli districts on April 29th and April 30th.

On May 1st, there are prospects of heavy rains in one or two places in the districts of Nilgiri, Erode, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Dindigul, Theni, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Thenkasi, Thirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Karur.

On May 2nd, there are prospects of heavy rain in one or two places in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Dindigul, Theni, Virudhunagar, and Thenkasi.

Regarding the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. There are prospects of mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in the city.

As of 8:30 AM on Friday (April 28th), in the last 24 hours, the maximum rainfall recorded in centimeters is as follows: Kodaikanal Boat Range - 11 cm, Kodaikkanal - 9 cm, Thanjavur District Eechanvidudhi - 5 cm, Theni District Sothuppaarai - 4 cm."
