Heavy Rainfall Forecasted in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Director Warns of Rising Temperatures

Chennai Meteorological Center Director P. Senthamaraikannan has issued a press release indicating that Tamil Nadu and Puducherry states can expect light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places today (June 16), tomorrow at a few places, and in most places on the 18th and 19th.

According to the forecast, heavy rain is expected in several districts on the 18th and 19th. On the 18th, Thiruvallur, Iranipet, Kanchipuram, Tirupattur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri, Kallakurichi, Salem, Trichy, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, and Ariyalur districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall. Similarly, on the 19th, Thiruvallur, Iranipet, Kanchipuram, Tirupattur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, and Kallakurichi districts are expected to receive heavy rainfall.

In addition to the rainfall, temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 102 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, with some areas experiencing temperatures 7 degrees above normal.
