The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of mild to medium rain for 6 days in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu, starting from the 28th of July until the 2nd of August – from Friday to Wednesday.
In a notification released on Thursday (yesterday, 27th July) on behalf of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it was mentioned:
"The depression zone which formed over the south Odisha coastal areas and the adjacent Bay of Bengal areas is still prevailing. Due to the phenomenon of the change in speed of the westerly winds blowing towards Tamil Nadu, there are prospects of mild to medium rain in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for 6 days, from the 28th of July (Friday) until the 2nd of August (Wednesday).
The Chennai Metro City and its suburbs will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 48 hours.
Warning for fishermen:
High-speed winds at 65 kmph are likely to blow across the Sections of the Bay of Bengal, the adjacent Kanyakumari Ocean Sections, South Tamil Nadu coastal areas, Bay of Mannar, Central Bay of Bengal, and the adjacent south Bay of Bengal today (Friday, 28th July). As such, fishermen are warned NOT to venture into the sea in these areas!
