In a notification released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned:
"Due to the phenomenon of changing speeds of the westerly winds blowing across Tamil Nadu, there are prospects for mild to medium rains from the 5th of August (Saturday, today) until the 10th of August in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu, Pudhuchery, and Karaikkal.
The temperature in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Pudhuchery, and Karaikkal may range from 38 to 40 Degrees Celsius. The temperature may be higher than normal by 2-4 Degrees Celsius in a few places!
There are prospects for citizens to suffer discomfort due to the high temperature and humidity levels.
As for the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, it will remain somewhat cloudy. There are prospects for mild to medium rain in a few places in the city."
