The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed today (Wednesday, 13th September) that a new low-pressure zone has formed over the Bay of Bengal.
The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that due to the phenomenon of the changing speeds of the northerly winds blowing towards the Tamil Nadu Region, there are prospects for mild rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Pudhuchery and Karaikkal until the 17th of September.
In this scenario, a low-pressure zone has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent central-west Bay of Bengal.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that this low-pressure zone is likely to intensify into a depression zone and drift towards north-northwest towards south Odisha, North Andhra and South Chhattisgarh towards the coast.
