Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Embarks on Grand Expansion of Tirumala Temple in Chennai

The revered Elumalayan Temple, under the purview of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, is poised for a significant expansion on Venkata Narayana Road, T. Nagar, Chennai. The temple, which holds deep spiritual significance for devotees, is set to undergo a transformative makeover, and plans are already in motion to acquire and develop a 5.5-acre parcel of land surrounding the temple. This land, currently owned by three individuals, carries a valuation of Rs. 35 crore.

In an ambitious endeavor, Tirumala Devasthanam aims to complete these expansion works within a tight three-year timeframe. To facilitate this vision, the Devasthanam administration is diligently engaged in the process of acquiring the adjacent land, which is essential for the temple`s growth. The estimated cost for the temple expansion is projected at Rs. 14 crore. In line with this, fundraising efforts are already underway, with donations pouring in from various benefactors who share in the temple`s vision and significance.

In a recent media interaction, prominent figures Karunakar Reddy and AJ Shekhar disclosed some exciting developments related to Tirumala Devasthanam`s activities in Tamil Nadu. They revealed plans to conduct free marriages for underprivileged individuals in the state, underscoring the organization`s commitment to community welfare.

Additionally, a grand expansion is on the horizon for the D. Nagar Perumal Temple. Currently situated on the 5th floor, the temple is set to undergo a remarkable transformation, expanding to occupy the 11th floor. The project has already received generous donations totaling 19 crore rupees, a testament to the devotion and support of the community. A Bhoomi Puja ceremony is scheduled to mark the commencement of construction within the next six months.

In an expression of solidarity and endorsement for Tirupati Devasthanam`s endeavors in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Stalin has been actively supporting and advocating for their initiatives, recognizing their valuable contributions to the community.
