For preparing the vision document, CMDA or Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has received responses from 40362 residents. Now, CMDA is getting ready to prepare the third master plan for the city of Chennai. Point to be noted is that the master plan would be prepared from the vision document.
As per a release from CMDA it was confirmed that for capturing the citizens aspirations zonal level public consultations were carried out throughout the Chennai Metropolitan Area or CMA by CMDA. It added that as many as 40362 responses were received through many platforms.
It is worthy to note that in continuation a series of workshops covering the entire CMA were proposed to obtain feedback from the citizens. This would make the goals for the third master plans to be aligned with the expectations of Chennai over the next 20 years.
On Wednesday, 18th October 2023, a one day workshop for Urban Growth and Housing and Traffic and Transportation sectors were conducted.
Various important personalities who took part in the workshop yesterday were Transport dept secretary Mr. K. Phanindra Reddy, GCC Commissioner Mr. J. Radhakrishnan, CMDA member secretary Mr. Anshul Mishra etc. Information gathered is that CMDA gas started preparing a third master plan (2027-2046) for CMA covering an area of 1189sqkm.
