As the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, will be visiting Chennai Metro City, traffic will be blocked on important routes for the President`s movements.
The 8th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Marine University, located near Chennai Metro City on the East Coast Road at Uthandi, is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow, Friday, October 27th. President Draupadi Murmu will be participating as the Chief Guest in this event.
For this occasion, she will be flying from Bangalore on a chartered flight and is expected to reach Chennai Airport at around 7.00 PM today, Thursday, October 26th.
The President will then proceed to Raj Bhavan, Guindy, for her overnight stay. As a result, traffic will be blocked on the GST Road from 6.30 PM to 7.30 PM.
The President is set to leave Raj Bhavan, Guindy, on the following day, Friday, October 27th, at 9.30 AM to reach the Indian Marine University. Accordingly, traffic will be blocked on the Guindy-Uthandi route from 9.00 AM until 10.00 AM.
President Murmu will depart from the Indian Marine University at 11.30 AM to head to the Airport, with traffic disruptions expected on this route.
The recent incident of a petrol bomb being hurled near the entrance of Guindy Raj Bhavan has heightened security concerns during the pending President`s visit to Chennai Metro City. Consequently, security arrangements have been strengthened during her stay.
Furthermore, given that the Indian President will be traveling on important roads during peak traffic periods in Chennai Metro City, vehicle drivers and owners are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly to avoid getting caught in severe traffic jams.
