The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for heavy rains today (Friday, 10th November) in 12 districts in Tamil Nadu State, including the Delta Districts.
In a notification released by the Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Pa. Senthamaraikkannan, it is mentioned:
"A low-pressure zone, which formed over the Central-east Arabian Sea, is presently prevailing in this zone. There is a cyclonic formation prevailing over the Kanyakumari Ocean Range. Furthermore, the phenomenon of changing easterly wind speeds is also occurring.
Due to the above factors, there are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain today (Friday, 10th November) in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There are also prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few places tomorrow (Saturday, 11th November) in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Additionally, there are prospects for mild to medium rain in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of November. Furthermore, there are prospects for mild to medium rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on the 15th of November.
There are prospects for heavy rains today (Friday, 10th November) in a few places in the 12 districts of Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Thoothukkudi, Thenkasi, Thirunelveli, and Kanyakumari.
Additionally, there are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in the next 48 hours in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs."
