A forthcoming low-pressure system is expected to materialize in the Bay of Bengal on the 15th, prompting the Meteorological Department to predict widespread rain in Tamil Nadu starting from the 14th. Chennai Meteorological Research Center Director P. Senthamarai Kannan stated that the southeast and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal are likely to witness the formation of a low-pressure area, leading to extensive rainfall.
The current weather conditions indicate the possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, attributed to variations in the speed of the easterly wind.
The forecast suggests light to moderate rain at isolated locations on the 12th and 13th, and at a few places on the 14th, 15th, and 16th. Over the next two days, Chennai and its suburbs are expected to remain cloudy, with some areas experiencing light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
