The Chennai Meteorological Centre has issued a notification stating that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in 10 districts, including Chennai Metro City and the delta districts in the State of Tamil Nadu today, Tuesday, 14th November. The Chennai Regional Meteorological Corporation released the following information:
A cyclonic formation is prevailing over the South Andaman Sea. As a result, a depression zone may form over the South Bay of Bengal zones. This depression zone may drift towards the North and Northwest and intensify into a strong depression zone over the Central-west Bay of Bengal on the 16th of November.
Additionally, another cyclonic formation is observed over the southwest Bay of Bengal region. Consequently, there are expectations of widespread rain in Tamil Nadu for the next 2 days.
Specifically, there is a likelihood of mild to moderate rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal today, 14th November. There is a potential for heavy to very heavy rains in a few places in the districts of Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Cuddalore.
There are prospects of heavy rains in the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai.
There is a chance of heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Ranipet, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakkurichi, Thirupathur, Vellore, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, and Trichy.
Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rains tomorrow, Wednesday, 15th November, in 1 or 2 places in the 8 districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Thirupathur, Vellore, Ranipet, and Thiruvannamalai.
Chennai Metro City and its suburbs are expected to remain somewhat cloudy today, 14th November, with the potential for medium to heavy rain in some areas.
