What would we do if we came across beautiful looking colourful creatures floating near the seashore? Obviously, most of us would try to touch them right!!
Now, a warning has been given for the Elliot`s Beach goers. It is mentioned that the public must not touch the pretty looking colourful creatures that are floating near the seashore as they are mildly deadly. Near the sea shore in Besant Nagar for the last 2 days, blue dragons (Glaucus Atlanticus) or a type of sea slug have been spotted.
Usually, these blue dragons are found in open sea surface waters but they would get pushed to the shore due to storms etc. It was brought out by some marine biologists that these colourful creatures were mildly venomous and their sting could lead to issues.
It was later mentioned by Mr. Srivatsan Ramkumar, Environmental Foundation of India that he was the first to spot the blue dragons. He spoke about how he found about 50 creatures near the broken bridge area in Besant Nagar.
According to a scientist from CMFRI, Mr. Joe Kizhakudan, sightings of blue dragons were rare. He hinted about the presence of these creatures near Kovalam beach shores in the past.
