Special worships for New Year in many temples, churches etc in Chennai!!

Yesterday, special worship was conducted in temples, churches etc in Chennai and across TN. On the occasion of the New Year, there were many special pujas in small temples from midnight itself.
The famous Murugan temple at Vadapalani in Chennai opened at 4am in the morning today. Thirupalli Ezhuchi was performed and it was followed by special abhishekam and decoration etc. In the golden coin shield decoration, the moolavar blessed the devotees. There would be sandhana kaapu decoration followed by thanga kavasam alangaram at 12 and raja alangaram in the evening. Corona infection regulations are fully implemented now in this temple as many devotees would be coming to the temple today.
In the Besant Nagar based Ashtalakshmi Temple, at 4am in the morning, the temple was opened. Special pujas were performed in the sannidhis of Goddess Adhilakshmi, goddess Dhanyalakshmi and goddess Dhairyalakshmi etc.
There were special abhishekams and pujas in several other temples like Mylapore Kapaleeswarar temple, Thiruvallikeni Parthasarathy temple etc.
Special masses and special prayers were held in many churches in Chennai on 31st midnight. At 11:30pm yesterday, a special mass and NY service took place at Santhome church. There were a large number of Christians who took part. Similar masses and prayers were conducted in Besant Nagar church, Mylapore church etc in Chennai.
