The State Government of Tamil Nadu has been implementing various welfare measures to ensure that all students in the state, especially those from the economically most backward sections, complete their school and college education.

As part of this initiative, a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1000/- is being provided under the `Pudhumaipen` Welfare Scheme to girl students who have studied in government schools from the 6th to the 12th standard and are continuing their college education.

State Minister for School Education, Anbil Magesh, has highlighted the importance of addressing the issue of students who have completed their school education but have not pursued higher education in colleges. Despite the government`s efforts to support them in continuing their education at a higher level, many students face challenges due to very poor or economically backward conditions.

Minister Anbil Magesh further emphasized that it is the steadfast policy of the Tamil Nadu State Government to provide school and college education to all students in the state and to create employment opportunities for them.
