The peak summer season is fast approaching us!!
To meet the demands for the upcoming summer season, the electricity board or EB has planned to carry out special maintenance work.
According to some officials belonging to EB, during the summers the usage of air-conditioners, air-coolers, fans etc would be very high. Since the parliamentary elections would also be taking place soon, the power demand would be very high. It is now expected that the power demand would be crossing 20744 megawatt also.
It must be taken into account that during summers the power distribution cables and transformers undergo frequent repairs. This would lead to power cuts and low voltage power supply etc. The officials mentioned that special maintenance work is being carried out to prevent issues from taking place.
In this situation, transformers near substations would be maintained and their quality would be upgraded. They spoke about how when the need arises new transformers would also be installed. Information is that in places where low voltage power distribution is carried out cables, transformers etc would be replaced to solve the issue.
