Metropolitan Transport Corporation or MTC recently grabbed the limelight when it added 50 new buses to its fleet. Now, with the summer season fast approaching, MTC is making news again for introducing bus services across 6 fresh or new routes. By this, a link would be created between T. Nagar, Ambattur, Tambaram and other suburban areas. Point is that MTC has expanded bus services to industrial regions and other places of interest etc.
There would be 8 to 12 journeys every day in these new routes and it would facilitate the travel of about 7000 additional passengers. The residents residing on the Chennai outskirts would be able to access major transit points and critical locations inside Chennai city.
It is worthy to mention here that bus number 51T connecting T. Nagar and Madurapakkam would help the commuters to travel directly from places like Tambaram, Selaiyur etc to T. Nagar through Velachery. Important piece of information is that new bus routes 19T and 19 Gct would connect Kovalam on the ECR with T. Nagar and Saidapet through Thiruvanmiyur.
Commuters present in places like Avadi and Ambattur could feel happy now as the bus route S 41 has been re-established. It must be recalled that this bus route was discontinued previously due to the Coronavirus pandemic. From now on, MTC bus services will cover an additional distance of 4km to 1km more than they did in the past. It is learnt that the bus route number 583 that carries commuters from Sriperumbudur to Tambaram would be extended till Palnallur industrial sector.
