The India Meteorological Department`s Wednesday morning bulletin reported a cyclonic circulation over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, resulting in the formation of a low-pressure area. Extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level, it sits off the north Tamil Nadu-South Andhra Pradesh coasts.
Anticipate significant rainfall across coastal districts of Tamil Nadu due to this weather phenomenon.
Later, the low-pressure area is expected to move northeastward, consolidating into a depression over central parts of the Bay of Bengal by Friday morning. Subsequently, it is projected to persist in its northeastward trajectory, gaining strength along the way, as per official forecasts.
