It`s bye-bye for the summer vacations and back to school now!!
Long summer vacations would be coming to an end and schools would reopen from Monday 10th of June across Tamil Nadu. The reopening of schools across TN has been announced already. In this scenario, the TN state govt has decided to operate special buses to transport students etc who have gone to their native places for the vacation. Moreover, it would be the weekend from 7th June to 9th June.
From Kilambakkam in south Chennai to places like Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari, Thoothukudi, Kovai, Salem, Erode and Tirupur, there would be operation of 535 to 570 additional buses on Friday and Saturday. This was as per the release from the transport dept.
On those days, from Koyambedu in Chennai 160 additional buses would be operated to places like Nagai, Velankanni, Hosur and Bengaluru etc. From Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur etc to other parts of TN, 200 additional buses would be operated. It must be noted that from Koyambedu additional 45 buses would be operated to Thiruvannamalai.
The release mentioned that the school education dept has announced about the reopening of the schools from Monday. Therefore, 705 additional buses would be operated to Chennai on Sunday. To operate more buses when needed, arrangements have been made. Passengers could book their bus tickets using www.tnstc.in or through the mobile app.
