Chennai Braces for Continued Rain Tonight, Predicts Private Meteorologist Pradeep John!
Private meteorologist Pradeep John has forecasted more rain for Chennai tonight. This comes after heavy rainfall and strong winds hit Chennai and its surrounding areas at midnight two nights ago and again last night. Neighborhoods such as Santhome, Triplicane, Chepauk, Royapettah, Koyambedu, Vadapalani, Ashok Nagar, Kodambakkam, Thiruvottiyur, Tambaram, and Selaiyur experienced heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Residents welcomed the rain, which provided relief from the daytime heat.
In a post on X, Pradeep John highlighted that Chennai has already surpassed its June average rainfall of 6 cm. With 10 days left in the month, more rain is anticipated. So far, Chennai Meenambakkam has recorded 24 cm of rain this month, while Chennai Nungambakkam has received 18 cm.
