Yesterday, 1st July, UPSC or Union Public Service Commission released preliminary examination results. The news is that as many as 14627 people have cleared the examination across India. Of these, 650 people from Tamil Nadu have cleared the examination. This has caught the attention of many now.
It is known to us that in India civil services examinations are conducted by UPSC for 24 different high posts including IAS, IPS etc. The examinations would be held in 3 stages namely first stage, main stage and an interview. Based on the marks obtained by the candidates, the final results would be published. Regarding filling up of as many as 1056 posts, UPSC released a notification on 14th of February 2024. For the first level examination, more than 10lakhs candidates applied.
On 16th of June, primary examinations took place in 79 cities across India. Information is that 6lakhs people have appeared for the exam. In TN, about 25000 wrote the examinations from 5 cities like Chennai etc. The candidates can check their results on the website www.upsc.gov.in or www.upsconline.nic.in.
It must be taken into account that 14627 candidates have passed the first stage examinations. As many as 650 candidates from TN alone have passed the examination.
Those candidates who have passed the first stage examination would appear for the main stage examination that would take place on 20th of September. It must be recalled that in 2023 the first stage exam results were announced in 16 days. In 2024, the results of the first stage examination have been announced in just 14 days.
