State transport corporations will operate 950 special buses this weekend, supplementing their regular services to accommodate passenger travel needs.
According to an official release, 265 special buses will run from Kilambakkam bus terminus to destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, and Salem on both Friday and Saturday. Additionally, Koyambedu will see 65 special buses each day to Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru.
From Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Erode, 200 special buses will cater to various parts of Tamil Nadu. Moreover, 15 special buses will operate from Koyambedu to Tiruvannamalai every Friday and Saturday.
Special buses will facilitate travel back to Chennai and Bengaluru on Sunday.
Ahead of the weekend, 7,010 passengers have already booked seats for Friday, 2,387 for Saturday, and 6,756 for Monday. Passengers are encouraged to utilize online booking facilities for trip planning.
