The auto drivers mobbing the passengers at the Central railway station in Chennai has been causing huge concern. The passengers who come out of this important railway station are feeling unhappy now.
It was revealed by a passenger from Kerala that he reached Chennai in the early morning hours and immediately he was surrounded by many auto drivers. He spoke about how he was dragged by them and was forced to take an auto. Shocking fact is that the passenger paid Rs 100 to reach the hotel that was just one kilometer away on the opposite side of the railway station.
It is worthy to note that many long distance trains arrive at Central station between 3:45am and 7am in the morning or between 10pm and 11pm. In these times, there would not be many local buses available for the passengers. Truth is that the passengers would have to depend on autos only to reach their destinations in Chennai.
A member of Zonal Rail, Users Consultative Committee, Naina Masilamani spoke about how so many autos were allowed inside the Central railway station. He added that the prepaid auto system was not operating effectively leading to more inconvenience for the passengers.
